Return, Refund and Delivery Policy
Melwood Furnitures (Pvt) Limited, having its registered address at 23, Nugegoda Road, Pepiliyana (“Melwood”, “we”, “us” or “our”) manages and operates the website www.melwood.lk (referred to as the “Web Platform”) through which we facilitate the sale of furniture and related products (“Products”) to users of the platform (“User”, “Users”, “you” or “your”).
We are committed to providing you with a seamless shopping experience—from browsing and ordering to returns and refunds. This Return, Refund and Delivery Policy (“Policy”), together with our Terms and Conditions, outlines the procedures for order cancellations, returns, refunds, and deliveries.
1. APPLICABILITY OF POLICY
By using the Melwood Web Platform and/or purchasing Products through it, you agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree with any of the terms stated herein, you are advised not to transact through the platform.
We may revise this Policy from time to time. Please check the latest version before making a purchase.
2. CANCELLATION POLICY
2.1 Order Cancellation by User

You may cancel your order (in full or part) before the Products are shipped.

To cancel, email us at info@melwoodfurnitures.lk with your order ID or tracking number.

If eligible, we will initiate a refund within 15 business days via the original payment method.

Made-to-Order (MTO) products can only be fully refunded if cancelled within 24 hours of ordering. A 25% restocking fee applies thereafter.
Note: Cancellation eligibility may vary based on your delivery location. Specific details will be mentioned on the product page.
3. RETURN POLICY
You may request a return within 7 days of receiving the Product if:
The Product is damaged, defective, or non-functional;
Accessories or parts are missing;
The item received is different from what was ordered.
3.1 Conditions for Return
To qualify for a return:
The Product must be unused and in its original condition;
Include the original invoice, packaging, tags, manual, and accessories;
Products must not be tampered with, modified, or show signs of wear;
For bundled sets, all items must be returned together;
Return requests must be made using the original account used for purchase.
3.2 Non-returnable Products
Returns will not be accepted if:
The wrong product/model/color was ordered by the user;
The product is personalized or made-to-order;
Return request is made after the 7-day return window;
Product is damaged due to improper use or handling post-delivery.
Note: Slight color or finish variations due to screen resolution or lighting do not qualify as defects.
3.3 Return Process

We may ask for photos or schedule an inspection to verify the issue;

Upon approval, we’ll arrange a reverse pickup through our logistics partner.
4. REFUND POLICY
Refunds are processed after return verification and approval:
Refunds are initiated within 15 business days of return pickup or cancellation confirmation;
Refunds are credited to the original mode of payment only;
Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the Product was damaged or defective on arrival;
We do not issue cash refunds.
Melwood reserves the right to reject a refund request if:
The returned item does not meet our quality checks;
The reason for return is not valid under this Policy.
If a return is rejected, the product will be shipped back to the user.
5. DELIVERY & SHIPPING POLICY
We provide shipping across Sri Lanka via trusted logistics partners. Our goal is to ensure that your order reaches you safely and on time.
5.1 Delivery Timeline
Delivery timelines may vary by location and product availability;
Estimated delivery date will be displayed during checkout.
5.2 Delivery Process
Once shipped, you’ll receive tracking details via SMS or email;
Please ensure someone is present at the delivery location to accept the product;
Larger furniture items may require basic assembly upon delivery.
5.3 Delivery Issues
If packaging is visibly damaged at the time of delivery, please mention this on the delivery receipt and contact us immediately;
If the Product inside is damaged, defective, or missing parts, initiate a return as per Section 3.
